In BR4R’s quest to honor Black history we bring you the pictures of twenty Americans who served their country during World War I. This is one page among many from the publication “Dakota County in The World War”. This publication showed portraits of at least 500 soldiers and sailors who served in WWI. In this picture we see the portraits of #7 Charles David (Buck) Curry, #8 Gilbert Curry and #9 Paul Curry. They are three brothers and sons from the James and Ella Curry Family of Hastings.CHARLES DAVID CURRY was born on 31 Aug 1889 in Hastings, Minnesota. He died on 12 Apr 1978 in Minneapolis. He was a postal worker. He married Hazel Lorraine Bussey (a teacher). She was born on 14 Jul 1896 in Davenport, Iowa. She died on 12 Dec 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Charles and Hazel were the grandparents of BR4R founding member James Curry. GILBERT LOUIS CURRY was born on 27 Apr 1892 in Hastings, Minnesota. He died on 25 Mar 1958. He was an auto tire worker and a farmer outside of South Minneapolis. He married Fredericka Curry. She was born in 1890 in Minnesota. She died on 20 Sep 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. PAUL SHELBY CURRY was born on 17 May 1894 in Hastings, Minnesota. He died on 09 Jan 1981 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He married Marjorie A. Wormley. By Andy Bindman Dakota County
